Jim O'Sullivan joined Ross & Company in 2004 from Spencer Stuart, the world’s largest privately-held executive search firm, where he was a member of the Technology, Communications and Media Practices. His search experience includes a range of successful, senior-level recruitments across multiple industry segments, with a particular emphasis on software, information systems, business process outsourcing, and healthcare. Jim’s primary focus is on serving emerging growth technology and healthcare clients with venture capital and private equity backing. He has also led in the recruitment of senior level executives for numerous Fortune 500 companies.
Over his career, Jim has conducted numerous searches for board members, general management, sales, marketing, product management and product development executives. During his tenure at Spencer Stuart, Jim was considered an expert in software and was leveraged by recruiting teams within the United States and globally. He was also the founder of Spencer Stuart's Chief Privacy Officer Practice, and has written extensively about privacy-related issues. He has specific industry knowledge and recruiting experience in medical informatics/healthcare information systems and managed care, as well as bio/nanotech and medical device manufacturers.
Prior to his career in executive recruiting, Jim was General Manager of an information technology consulting firm where he founded and oversaw its Human Capital Management Software Division.
A graduate of King’s College with a B.A. in History and Mass Communications, Jim was elected to serve in his senior year as the President of the Student Government. He earned a J. D. from Quinnipiac University-School of Law, graduating with distinction in Trial Advocacy. Jim is a Board Member of the Executive Search Roundtable, an international association of recruiting professionals dedicated to quality research and search execution. He also serves as a judge for the Software & Information Industry Association’s Codie Awards. The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry. The Codie Awards celebrate achievement and vision in software, education technology and digital content. Each year, Codie Awards judges work to identify the "best-of-the-best" from hundreds of nominees.
