Larry Ross established Ross & Company in 1992 following a six-year career with two of the world's largest executive recruiting firms. During his five year tenure with Russell Reynolds Associates, he worked both in the New York and Stamford offices as a member of the Healthcare, Venture Capital and Investment Banking practice groups. Larry also served as Executive Assistant to the Founder & Chairman, Russell S. Reynolds, Jr. Subsequently, he was a Principal in the Stamford office of Korn/Ferry International and a member of the Venture and Healthcare practices.
Larry's search background spans a broad range of senior-level engagements across multiple industry segments, with a particular emphasis on private equity-backed companies. He has successfully recruited at the CEO, C-level, functional vice president and Board level for venture and LBO portfolio companies, as well as for General Partners and Advisory Directors to manage risk capital funds. His client work has ranged from concept and seed stage start-ups to more established businesses undergoing recapitalizations, workouts, turnaround, and major corporations.
An expert in the healthcare arena, Larry has in-depth knowledge of the healthcare information sector, managed care, physician practice management and healthcare services. His background also includes work with biotechnology/lifesciences, pharmaceutical, diagnostic and medical device manufacturers. Based on his close relationships with the investment community, he has been active in the incubation and/or positioning of emerging companies for rapid growth. He has advised investors and CEO’s on the construction of outside boards of directors; the recruitment of general management teams; the introduction of strategic partners; and capital sourcing.
Prior to his career in executive search, Larry Ross worked for seven years in advertising and marketing with Saatchi & Saatchi and DMB&B. His clients included M&M/Mars, Procter & Gamble, Richardson-Vicks and Mercedes-Benz of North America.
Ross is a member of the Human Resources Committee of the Lasker Foundation. The Albert Lasker Medical Research Awards honor breakthrough advances in medical research and have become known as America’s “Nobel”. The Lasker Awards are among the most respected science prizes in the world. Since 1945, the Awards Program has recognized the contributions of scientists, physicians, and public servants who have contributed to major advances in the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of human disease.
A past Secretary of the Executive Search Council (a trade association consisting of the five largest international executive search firms), Larry earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University.
