Warburg-Pincus invested $10 million in this Beijing-based pharmaceutical start-up. Lotus' strategy was to introduce Western life science technologies into the P.R.C., having established a manufacturing and marketing infrastructure.

PerSeptive Biosystems

Bioseparations business launched out of MIT. Originally backed by Venrock, Highland Capital, Prince, Aspen, Morgan Holland, Bessemer. PerSeptive Biosystems offers mass spectrometry technology and other advanced tools for the separation, purification, and analysis of biomolecules, as well as the synthesis of peptides and small organic molecules. Acquired by Perkin-Elmer (AB).

RxRemedy has a range of publishing and database assets, including a 100,000-member consumer panel with 7-10 years of input. Recruited the former Head of Sales & Marketing from Summit Medical (now Celeris) to run RxRemedy–s Information Services business.
